We had a lovely stay at the Baechcombers- it is a 15 min walk into Gorey where there are some lovely restaurants but we also enjoyed an evening meal in the hotel. The bus stop is close by and the island bus service is great- we had no need for a car! The communal areas in the hotel are very pleasant and sun loungers around the pool comfortable. The bedrooms are small and have basic furniture but the bathroom was modern and stylish! We would return and recommend this hotel!

Although the weather was very changeable we had a lovely week in the hotel. The buffet breakfast is excellent and we had two enjoyable meals in the hotel in the evening. We didn't hire a car as we find the buses very user friendly on Jersey.

I lived on Jersey for 40 years and know most of the accommodation available on the Island. This really is a good mid-price hotel run by a Jersey family. I have stayed here two or three times now and the quality and service is always there. Nice modern and clean rooms, good choice of breakfast, no problem with parking (but it was off-season) friendly staff, competitive rates, all reasons why I keep coming back. Could I be picky? The room above me had squeaky floorboards but no big deal. You get what you pay for, there are better and worse hotels on the Island than the Beachcombers but for my purposes of visiting family, this more than does the job. I would return here again and recommend it to anyone.

Very comfortable, excellent service and above all very quiet even though the hotel was full. We stayed for bed and breakfast as we were visiting family. Breakfast was buffet style and there was everything you could possibly ask for. If you wanted something different, all you had to do was ask and the chef would try and prepare what you requested. Suffice to say, we will be back when we next visit Jersey.

We had a family holiday with our two children. The pool was unheated but the kids didn't seem to mind. The atmosphere around the pool was friendly but not invasive and the family room allowed the kids to have a bit of freedom whilst we had some quiet time. The staff were really friendly and genuinely appeared to enjoy their jobs being social, welcoming and professional at the same time. The restaurant was expensive so half board might be a better deal if you plan to stay in for dinner, however the menu only changes every three days. We had bed and breakfast. The breakfast had everything you could possibly want. Jersey buses are excellent so dinners at the local village was an easy option on the evenings we didn't stay at the hotel. Alternatively a 20 minute walk there a back became part of our holiday.

Great experience with attentive friendly & very helpful staff. Good food, clean & comfortable rooms although our bed could have been a little firmer. Our only criticism was the lack of sound insulation between the second & third floors. This would have been a problem if our upstairs neighbours hadn't gone to bed at the same time as us. Very happy to stay again if we have the opportunity.

We read some of the previous reviews of this hotel prior to leaving for Jersey and some were a little negative we thought but we decided we would see for ourselves and we are so pleased we did, the hotel was nicely situated outside Gorey within an easy walk to the harbour and shops. We were put into a ground floor room which gave access directly to the car park and swimming pool meaning we could come and go without having to go through the hotel each time. The room was beautiful and had recently been updated and refitted including a wonderful new fully tiled bathroom, there were twin beds pushed together which made a huge kingsize bed with very comfortable and spotlessly clean white bedding. The rooms were cleaned every day to a wonderful standard and we never had any problems with missed areas or chores neglected it was totally thorough. The breakfast and the waiting staff were exemplary spotlessly clean in their uniforms each day and the choices of food on offer was well above what we had expected and we looked forward each morning to filling ourselves to bursting point with all there was on offer. We chose to eat in the dining room on one evening as well during our stay and that meal as well was beautiful and served in a most enjoyable manner by the staff. If we had one slight negative point to moan about it was that there was building work being carried out in an adjoining room and the drilling and tapping was a little annoying if we got back to our room earlier than usual, this apparently was due to the updating being finished off prior to the busy summer season starting and was not a deal breaker for us. Would we recommend the hotel to others ? Certainly we would! Anna and her staff run a wonderful hotel as can be seen by the huge number of Thank You cards that adorn the walls of the corridor. Would stay here again for sure next time we visit our family on Jersey. Many Thanks to all the staff . Steve and Yas Richardson (Worcestershire)

Great welcome, staff were really helpful and breakfast was well cooked and lasted us the day. We'll situated and easy to get St Helier and Gorey. Bedroom was comfortable and so was the bed. Car park is small and a challenge to park if you get in late, and the hotel was not full. The only thing was we had a superior room and the sound of running water could be heard all night, when mentioned I was told it was the plumbing. It was not enough to keep us awake however if you were a light sleeper it might. All in all a great experience enhanced by the staff.

I had a booking problem OF MY OWN MAKING and reception exceeded themselves helping me. Excellent meals for choice and quality. Have already recommended to others and my wife and I look forward to our next visit.

The staff were all excellent very freindly and always ready to help. The rooms were adequate and clean with the cleaning staff completing a great job daily even though we tend to make the beds daily ourselves it was never quite up to thier high standards and the room always looked neater on our return. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of produce on offer the staff were very attentive always replenishing the hot plates etc, we did not eat in the hotel in the evening this year but the sandwiches ordered for a snack one afternoon were tasty and good value for money.

Our family visit was the first to Jersey and we choose the Beachcomber because of location (near family) and the previous reviews. The accommodation was comfortable although very warm on the top floor when the temperature hit 30oC. All the staff. without exception, were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the outdoor pool very pleasant. The only (very) minor point were the toasters at Breakfast. both were so slow you needed a chair for the wait. A new hotel style toaster would be a real benefit. Otherwise great and we would certainly use the venue again for our next visit.

If you want a quieter location away from the hustle and bustle of St Helier, Beachcombers in Grouville is ideal. Ten minute (leisurely) walk from the beach at Grouvllle, The Pembroke pub is close and the regular bus service is there to get into town and around the island. Lovely to have dinner then take a walk along Grouville to Gorey. The hotel was clean, comfortable, excellent buffet breakfast offering cold and warm foods (which was always warm). Staff were all very charming and attentive. Kids enjoyed the play room, outdoor pool and grounds (tennis court) also very pleasing. Would definitely go back.
