    "Great Location"

Our room was very good, breakfast was equally very good and the personnel were all very halpful and charming. This Hotel is perfectly located for those, like me, who like to stroll to and from the 'Restaurant district' in the evning. Parking is a bit of an 'experience' but was not an inconvenience of any note. Have I stayed at other Guernsey Hotels - yes a number. Would I stay at the Normandie again; definitely - it is now at the top of my list.

General Information

The Duke of Normandie is a small hotel in Guernsey offering a warm welcome and modern facilities. We are conveniently situated in the heart of St Peter Port in a quiet location just 75 metres from the High Street.

Our 11 executive rooms and 26 en-suite standard rooms offer a choice of accommodation to appeal to business travellers or to those taking a break in Guernsey, and uniquely amongst hotels in Guernsey we offer the convenience of a private town centre car park.

To cater for the needs of our business guests, we recommend our new executive rooms, which are stylishly furnished and luxuriously equipped. For our leisure guests our en suite standard rooms offer great value, with comfortable furnishings and excellent facilities.

Rooms

We have created our rooms with careful attention to detail to offer a boutique hotel look and feel. All are stylishly furnished to the highest standard and equipped with LCD televisions, Sky Digital, DVD/CD players, iPod stations, minibars, laundry service and ironing facilities, and executive rooms also benefit from free use of the hotel's DVD library. The new top quality beds boast pocket sprung mattresses and the finest cotton linen for maximum comfort and a great night's sleep.

Room service is available between 7am and 11pm, we offer a complimentary daily newspaper, and there is free Wi-Fi access anywhere in the hotel. All the rooms are non-smoking. These rooms are particularly well-suited to the needs of the business traveller, those mixing business with leisure, or anyone seeking a higher standard of accommodation.

The Brasserie at the Duke of Normandie

The Brasserie at the Duke of Normandie welcomes hotel residents and non-residents alike. An airy and stylish place for breakfast, with a choice of continental or traditional English menus, the Brasserie makes a perfect start to your day.

For lunch and dinner we offer a choice of à la carte and set menus featuring a selection of international dishes, complemented by a wine list sourced from the old and new worlds. Dinner at the Brasserie is relaxed and casual, attracting discerning locals as well as hotel residents.

We welcome bookings for conferences (up to 30 people) and private dinners (up to 60 people).

Admiral de Saumarez Bar

The Admiral de Saumarez bar at the Duke of Normandie is set in one of the oldest parts of the building, dating back to the late 17th century. A St Peter Port institution, the Admiral attracts a mix of Guernsey locals and hotel residents to its relaxing maritime-themed surroundings, which include centuries-old timbers, flagstones and artefacts. The Admiral also offers traditional English pub meals at lunch and dinner.

Duke of Normandie Courtyard

During the warmer months our sun-trap courtyard offers delightful surroundings for an aperitif or a light meal, for an informal meeting with friends or colleagues, or as a relaxing place to log on with your laptop using our wireless network.

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our Silver Wedding. Once we had been dropped off by a rather grumpy taxi driver we were greeted by a smiling check in desk and from then on the next 10 days were simply perfect.
Our executive room was spacious and well equipped, with chocolate and champagne a lovely touch for our arrival and our big day.
Food in the brasserie and bar was very good, and the waiting, bar and reception staff were unfailingly courteous and cheerful.
A hotel full of charm and character in the centre of a lovely town. The return taxi driver redeemed his trade. He was lovely.

A wonderful hotel!!Really can't fault it. Breakfast amazing!! Loved the pub!!!! Would have been completely 5* except our room had no view and was a little dark. However it was so comfy and we were only in there first thing in the morning and in the evening it did not spoil our holiday at all.
