The hotel rooms were a good size with good (but slightly dated) bathroom/shower. The food is first class and the service is very very good too. In the sunshine, the outside terrace is a great spot for a pre-dinner drink.

The food was lovely, but the room was very dark and dated, the bed was uncomfortable and the outside could have really done with some attention. I also didn't get any sleep as other guests were making noise and there was lots of noise outside from the lorrys, bin trucks and tractors.

We stayed for 1 night to attend a wedding at the castle so chose for location which was ideal. The staff were brilliant in helping us get an early check in so we could get ready and the check out at 11.30 the next day was good too. The breakfast was lovely and a wide choice. My only comment would be how dated the decor was. The bathroom was perfect 70s and our room was right in front of an outside seating area. Although no one used it during our stay had they done so they could look right in to our room. Overall a good stay, clean and comfy, but could definitely do with updating!

Good points, Great location, incredible view, staff very friendly when we found them. Bad points, Room was quite dated for the price and the shower had no pressure at all. Given the price I did expect a bit more but I think we paid extra for the view. Also no one around at all when we checked out at 7.30am, we had to let ourselves out and the bell didn't work.

We had huge accommodation on the top floor. The sleeping and living area was open plan and very comfortable. Wouldn't like to stay in this room during cold weather as the windows were ill fitting. The wash room was well equipped and very spacious with the bath and shower being separate. There was a problem with the water pump that made the shower somewhat temperamental. The restaurant: We were half board so cannot comment on the lunch time menu but breakfast and dinner were excellent. A lift would have been useful.

It was the second time we stayed at the Moorings Hotel and we liked it very much again. We got a big room with a great view of the sea and the harbor and so lovely details such as the teddy on the bed or the ducks in the bathroom. Very friendly staff. Gorey is a nice place to stay. We would like to come again.

Stayed for 3 nights - wonderful room overlooking the harbour, very well equipped, most comfortable bed. Excellent attentive but in obtrusive service in all areas of the hotel. Breakfasts locally sourced and plentiful, the celebration dinner we had with friends over the weekend was first class, great food, great service. Hope to go back!

We had a very nice large room on the second floor looking out over the harbour - well worth the extra price - beautiful view, comfortable bed, good furnishings and nice bathroom. Room only just misses 5 stars because it was very, very hot when the afternoon sun had been shining in. Restaurant was excellent with a reasonably priced, varied fixed menu of really interesting tasty food - four courses plus coffee and petit fours as well as a mini-starter and a sorbet. Good food on the a la carte menu too, should you not find anything on the table fixed price menu. Restaurant very busy, especially in the second half of the week, so make sure you book a table. Friendly proprietors and staff. Great location on harbourside - hotel provides a parking permit if you have a car. Mount Orgueil Castle is almost in the back garden and well worth a visit. Plenty of beaches in walking distance and bus stop a few metres away if you don't have a car. We certainly plan to stay again.

My partner Sue and I couldn't have wished for a better holiday in Jersey. The Moorings Hotel was recommended by friends of ours Eric and Lesley Partridge from Burnham on Crouch Essex. We arrived late in the evening after having a terrible crossing on the ferry, and all we wanted to do was get to The Moorings, freshen up and go to bed.! Jo was there to greet us, and took us straight to our lovely comfortable room, it was superb! Our whole stay at the Moorings was made easy with the relaxed and friendly attitude of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble !! The entire Hotel was clean and fresh at all times and a joy to stay in. The food was exceptional, although we could never eat the petit fours at the end of the meal, they looked stunning, but an after eight mint would have sufficed :-) ! We are looking forward to our return next year, thankyou for everything !!!!!!

This smallish hotel is situated on the edge of the harbour in Gorey. We had a sea-view room and it was magical opening the curtains in the morning and looking straight out over the very pretty harbour. The hotel is situated right under the famous castle in Gorey. Our room was smallish but very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was freshly cooked and extremely good. There is a nice outside verandah, overlooking the harbour, where we had drinks which was very pleasant. Other than breakfast, we did not eat at the hotel. Not cheap but probably good value for Jersey in August.

location perfect for a base with an exellent bus service which almost makes cars redundant. The room we had was really too small even although our stay was short, there was dfficulty in housing all our effects. The food and the restaurant design and furnishings and staff were worth five stars. The hotel would benifit from a further update, plumbing and water pressure are not good and an enclosed porch at the entrance would keep the strong winds controlled. All said, we will probably visit again and would prefer a sea view, next time.

Loved Jersey and we were glad we picked Gorey Pier and the Moorings because the setting was beautiful and we could walk to the restaurants and stumble home in a matter of minutes. We found the standard of food in Jersey very high and we also found the islanders to be extremely friendly and helpful and particularly courteous when driving. We did not have the best weather but the last two days were sunny and Gorey looked great and completely different in the sun, the sea was so blue. Plenty of places to eat and drink in Gory and we tried quite a few but must say the food we had at the Moorings took some beating. The seafood platter was the best we have ever had, as was the lobster thermidor. It's good to know that the chef is the owner with his wife, which should guarantee the food standard will be consistent. Well done!
