My wife and I returned to stay at Station Guest House some 22 years after our first visit. This is an unusual place to stay as it is still operating as a station as well as a guest house. As it is a small branch line the frequency of the trains does not disturb the peace and quiet. It just adds to the experience. There is a café also run by the same family at the station. The staff were very welcoming, the food in the café fresh and home made, the breakfast likewise. the icing on the cake is the view from the bedroom window which is of the river which is only about 50 metres away. We would recommend this as somewhere different to stay for those who fancy a new experience. We will return before another 22 years for sure.
